The Weathervane™
To Assemble Feeder:

- Loose parts include: one Upper Shaft with Ring; one Arrow; one N-S-E-W Directional Assembly; one Rope (for use when hanging feeder); two #6x3/4 Flathead Wood Screws (for use when post-mounting).

- Holding the Upper Shaft upside down with the Ring at the bottom, snap Arrow onto Shaft, then the N-S-E-W Directional Assembly, positioning exactly as shown (see Fig A). NOTE: Assemble pieces upside down so they will be correctly oriented when placed into cupola.

- Remove roof from feeder body. With one hand, hold the lower shaft that protrudes from under the center of the roof.

- With the other hand insert the bottom of the Upper Shaft Assembly into the hole on the top of the Cupola. Push down as far as it will go (see Fig B).

- The Upper and Lower shafts will meet within the Cupola; snap and lock together permanently with a click. [TIP: if you have trouble locking the shafts together, rotate the Upper Shaft Assembly until it aligns with the lower shaft, then push down until they lock together.]

- Place fully assembled roof on feeder body. Holding the Ring, push the Top Shaft downwards, rotating until it enters the slot in the feeder, then turn it 90 degrees in either direction to lock the roof into place.

Hanging/Mounting Instructions:

To hang bird feeder: (Fig C)

- Thread looped end of rope through top ring.

- Thread other end of rope through the loop and pull through and up.

To post-mount bird feeder: (Fig D)

- Place feeder on a 4"x4" wooden post (fits the square inset molded into the bottom of the feeder. [TIP: We recommend pre-drilling 2 small holes in the post to make the next step easier.]

- Using a screwdriver, drive one flathead wood screw (#6x3/4 provided) into one of the indentations in the base of the feeder; then repeat for the indentation on the other side.

NOTES:
To position your feeder correctly, lift up the stem just below the N-S-E-W directional (do not lift up by the N-S-E-W directional itself as these may break off with rough handling). Rotate the directional so that the "N" is pointing to the North, then push the stem back down into the top of the cupola as far as it will go.

[NOTE: Depending on how tightly the feeder is hung to the branch or hook, it may be moved out of position by the wind.]

For Best Results:

- Holding the ring, push top shaft downwards, turn it 90 degrees to unlock roof from body; lift roof assembly up.

- Fill with seed and/or clean with warm, soapy water.

- Replace roof, relock by pushing top shaft downwards and turning 90 degrees.
